Honestly, I did NOT have "punching the air and going HELL YES to Chris Patten" on my bingo card today. But what he says is SO rarely said and needed saying SO badly!
"How shall we treat Mr Farage's concerns? Shall we hail Brexit a tremendous success? Something that has cost the country billions?"

SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten.

I suspect if we lost the Beeb it would be a 'You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone' thing.
The news dept has been horrific for a while. But that's a tiny fraction of what it does. It maintains such an important set of principles and that's why the right hates it.

You wouldn’t believe how far the BBC reaches. The furthest away country, you’ll meet some locals. They ask you if you’re British, they’ll tell you about the BBC.

#RancidHerring Farage on the warpath again.
Rancid herring is now my go to description for Farage (with massive grifting bellend a close second)
The CURRENT sitting MP for Clacton earns £511,000 as a presenter for GB News and took £281,000 as a brand ambassador for Direct Bullion.
So maybe sit this one out, you rancid herring.

That's the nature of political satire Tim dear. It largely lampoons the party in power, whether that's Tory, Labour or heaven help us, Reform!
remembered this after Tim Davie took the chance to skip out, and the cognitive dissonance of Andrew Neil complaining about unchallenged bias in BBC presentation is still deafening

When BBCQT and news shows stop introducing RW commentators as “authors” or “journalists” and left wing people as “activists”, I’ll start to reconsider BBC bias
It can’t be said often enough: BBC News and current affairs have presented unacceptable right wing bias and have platformed MAGA-funded think tanks masquerading as research units since well before the orchestrated campaign to separate us from Europe.
