I’ve identified my local restaurants that run their own delivery services: trust me, it’s so much better, you can tip direct, and I’ve gotten to know these people.

I think one of the things that makes me the most angry about those third-party apps is when they fool customers into thinking they’re tipping the delivery person, and then the app just straight-up steals the tip

i think a lot of people have food agoraphobia (and xenophobia) and they didn't just pop out of the cabbage patch like that, they were taught by their family and environment. it's sad because many food cultures are established by poor or ensalved folks being creative and resourceful
