Apparently the original Voodoo PCI doesn’t have enough video memory to run Diablo II. That’s unfortunate.

From a couple of weeks ago, but I really feel like playing some MSDOS games today.

I was looking at this Intel Overdrive CPU that was on my desk and I got for peanuts on a whim a while ago. Only now I looked into it and found out that I need a very specific motherboard for it. It’s an early 486 motherboard that came with a blue overdrive upgrade socket.

I haven’t been making content, but I made a short today. I haven’t found a good camera app for filming CRTs with the iPhone, if anyone has a suggestion I appreciate it. youtube.com/shorts/5BqsI...

Looking at this old advertisement and wondering if “positive response” is what we used to call tactile feedback. Pulled from Electronic Games 1994-11, at the internet archive.

Because of the way the display swap worked for this Game Gear, it’s been one of my favorite things since I did it. I just love how the modern display makes the old games look crisp. I have follow up mods for it like a new case and sound board but they’ve been on the backlog. 😬

Has anyone ever messed with one of these emulation handhelds?

This is what happens when capacitor get too much excited.

It wasn’t uncommon for resellers in Brazil to put warranty stickers on your cpu. It would void warranty if you removed it. In a way, they were shooting themselves in the foot. I cringe when I remove a heat sink from an old combo like this and see the sticker.

I had never seen a video card with so many blown caps. I’m not sure, but I think it just happened over time too.

I played 2 hours of The Humans yesterday. Such a fun little game. I haven’t yet heard of anyone that played it in their childhood like our family did.

Hi guys! Recently I mentioned we had this game as a kids (The Humans) in a conversation with @riksrandomretro.com and he kindly found a box copy for me. I love this intro and music, such a warm fuzzy filling from memory lane. Thanks, dude! This is lovely. Btw, the disks worked perfectly.

Looking back at my search history, I realize that most of my searches on the internet are to verify that I'm grammatically correct on my native language. This can't be normal.

How was everyone’s weekend? I managed to play a bit of Civ IV on my AMD windows XP build. I loved it, too bad I didn’t have a lot of time to lose myself in it. This build will feature in a video soon.

What’s up guys? I’m back from China. It was an amazing experience but it’s been a work in progress to get my regular routine back on track.

I’m pretty happy with how this windows XP build turned out. I am working on a video for it, but I’m going on a work trip to China tomorrow, so it’ll have to wait quite a bit for me to get back to it. The period appropriate mouse and keyboard really seal the deal for me. I love sitting here now.

So I finally have a build to use my pretty much new saitek eclipse 3 keyboard. Exciting!

The final setup turned out pretty well I think. I’ve been playing Jill of the Jungle after I took the shots I needed. But realized I could install my sb pro, I think Jill has an effects bug with the running sb16. I only remembered that after I heard it. But then, sbpro doesn’t have mpu 401. I think.

On a completely different topic today, I’m fixing up my 386 hybrid for a cameo. I’ll post it when it’s done.

Since I’ve heard about AMD’s Dragon Platform I’ve wanted to play around with one. I tried 2 different HD 4850s but both were broken. Finally got a Saphire in good condition and the fit is great. The case is age appropriate as well, nothing fancy. I’ve got so many XP games waiting for me!
