An original ship class that's named after cryptids. USS Jersey Devil, USS Michigan Dogman, USS Chupacabra, etc.
That's the whole idea so far. What kind of ship do you think that would be? I think either a long range tactical ship (kinda like Prometheus) or super secret sci ship like Osler.

When @ncc-60205.bsky.social and I were working on the Michigan class, I considered keeping the registry on the back, but it clashed with the shuttle bay. Both the name and reg were placed on the inner part of the saucer to help give the sense that Michigan is larger than Exeter.

One of the problems I have with writing is that I am so indecisive. One thing I've been working on for way too long is the past ship lineage for @ussleviathan.bsky.social and I just can't make a final decision on it.
For a while I wanted them all to be ships original to Trek video game...
