2023 was extremely hot. Then came 2024
It's looking like 2024 will be the hottest year since record-keeping began, unseating 2023 for the top spot. Climate change is playing a role, and scientists say it was even hotter than expected.

Today we say goodbye to the warmest year on record - so far!
My school does not send kids home for barking, phlegmy coughs or snot fountains. Unless they are actively vomiting or a useless forehead thermometers shows a fever, they stay. We’ve decided to value attendance without considering whether kids learn anything being at school feeling crappy..
It still astonishes me that more people in politics and our media pretend to be concerned about kids having missed school than kids having been killed or sickened by Covid.

I think I might see more people in agreement on the United healthcare thing than any other issue in ages. No, we don’t condone murder, but we’ve also all had shitty experiences with health insurance.

Currently reading American Rapture by CJ Leede. Near future apocalypse due to disease, with a side helping of commentary on religious trauma. It’s good, but I care more about whether the dog makes it through than any of the human characters!
