Librarian, friend to dogs and cats, still Covid conscious.
As an elementary teacher who is regularly questioned and treated like I’m insane for wearing one - good to know a few people appreciate it!

The study you linked here looked at adults - specifically, veterans. I’m also really worried about kids, especially those too young to have the vocabulary to talk about mental health! I teach elementary and worry about the 6 year olds already on their 3rd round of Covid.

I am an elementary school librarian. I haven’t gotten COVID - and I test for any slight symptom whatsoever, so I don’t think it’s just that I had it and didn’t know. The only possible reason I’ve worked with 600 kids and not gotten COVID is my mask.

Are bans being enforced in NY? I’m in NC and was very concerned when the ban passed. I teach and was worried I would be forced to decide between my job and staying safe. Fortunately, no one has challenged me on it. Hoping that’s the case most places, although bans are bad even if not enforced!

In related news, my windows are open today. In late December.

Any thoughts on the safety of silicone cutting boards?

Yes, and this time around we won’t switch to remote learning at all. The health of students, their families, and teachers will take a back seat to profits from day one.

No… I’m in a situation where I have to pick my battles and that one wasn’t worth it, unfortunately. Most of my coworkers don’t bother to even pretend to wear a mask when sick. I had my N95 on as always!

The one that floors me is the people who wear it, but yank it away from their face to speak. I don’t get it. A coworker of mine came in sick last week and had a mask, but pulled it away every time she talked to anyone. Worthless at that point.
