One of the things about trust is that it is efficient. It saves you having to invest a lot of time and effort in verification, and if placed in the right places, saves you a lot of pain.

"The diseases will do the education" is what we get when we don't trust.

Am I missing something?

Choosing the F-35 will be more expensive, keeps us in a position of dependency to a potentially hostile power, and won’t have the same economic benefit as the Saab deal, which might actually help rebuild our defense industry.
Another story that encouragingly foregrounds the question of who controls the F-35’s software when considering which jet Canada should buy.
Ideally, reporters would also look beyond the F-35 to the military & government’s pervasive software dependency problem. The F-35’s only the tip of the iceberg.
Opinion: Sweden offers Canada a chance to revive its near-dead defence aerospace industry
Building Saab’s Gripen fighter jet and GlobalEye surveillance plane in Canada would create thousands of jobs – and infuriate Trump

Thank you. To be clear, I did not merely “dismiss” AI as mid. My argument is that LLMs 1) are not intelligent 2) average textual responses in a way that is mid 3) most generous use cases are a revolution of middle skills that don’t produce anything ergo LLMs are in every demonstrable way mid.

This guy's a vet and a lawyer who threw a sandwich and offered to turn himself in, so they sent a paramilitary platoon with a camera crew.

They have FBI and U.S. Marshal badges; apparently those agencies do no real work beyond camera stunts, harassing minorities, and filling concentration camps.
The White House posted an insane video of the police arresting the sandwich guy in a safe and wealthy neighborhood.

"We have good investments over there-"
Just a reminder, America. He's talking about how his personal business empire is affected by the deal with the UK, not the welfare of the people of the United States that he is apparently President of.
Trump does a promo for properties he still owns and profits from: "There all on the ocean. I only have interest if they're on the ocean. We have good investments over there. Beautiful."
