Despite taking a tumble, this compaq 386 still kinda works. Separate issue is the CMOS battery died so I'll have to replace that and make a diag disk.
Sounds like this will just be a really cool custom 386 machine when I'm done with it.

Man my uncle Ralph died, this sucks.
He was genuinely one of the kindest souls in the world. He loved his art and was responsible for my love of storytelling. I am absolutely heartbroken I'm never going to have the chance to see him again.

The main trauma is really rough but nobody ever tells you about the random triggers and secondary effects that at least for me are worse than the immediate loss.

So I'm having new HVAC installed and one the guys doing the install asked what I was doing on the computer, I work from home.
I didn't notice until right then that my job looks a lot like the job they do in Severance where they're just selecting numbers that illicit an emotion.
