Whose idea was making kindness and empathy seem radical?
I wish them thunderous cactus piles.

What’s wild about this is the more liberal end of management think forcing presenters like Ince & Lineker out will placate the headbangers when in reality these people will not stop until the BBC is stripped for the copper wiring and sold
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

My main memory of Stanley Baxter was an insanely racist sketch that lasted about 8 minutes where minorities (Baxter in black/brown face) all told jokes about each other.

Do you know what I do miss from Twitter?
The American “medical fatphobia” people. Always filled an empty lunchtime. If you’ve never sought them out, you are really missing out.

Attempted to piece together the almost 50 years of tweaks and changes to the original Star Wars after the announcement of its return to theaters in 2027—raising the question of what really counts as "original" in the first place
The History of the Cuts of the Original 'Star Wars'
The original theatrical cut of 'Star Wars: A New Hope' is returning to theaters for its 50th anniversary. But what does 'original' actually mean?

Pay attention to whose flirtations with Nazism and Hitler worship are to be endlessly indulged and forgiven, and whose liking a Facebook comment five years ago are regarded as utterly disqualifying. Does that give us any information about how things work?
Looks like everybody's favourite Tory said a load of bad stuff at private school too.

I have only seen the film once and hated it, right, but I genuinely don’t understand Love Actually and why Rickman’s character (considered cheating on wife - doesn’t) is seen as a baddie while Knightley’s character (considers cheating with partner’s best friend - doesn’t) is seen as cute.

Tempted to open Threads and just screenshot it every morning. What part of the algorithm suggested I would like this? It’s like this every day - I don’t post so has it taken my name, assumed my gender, then just fed me anything other men have reacted badly to?

I’ve been listening to a set of history podcasts recently that cover the rise of the Nazis and other unsavoury societal stuff and part of it has really tickled my confirmation bias.
There’s a subset of people referred to as ‘shallow Christians’, right.
And that’s people who don’t follow a doctrine…
