I'm glad the international news keeps sharing our stories of kindness and generosity, the way Minnesotans lift each other up. The Canadians (Newfoundlanders by the way) joke about adopting us as the next province.

"we can just redraw the border. We'll take Minnesota, the US can have Alberta."

Today in Mexico:
On the boat, the Canadian divers ask me about home.

They say Minnesotans are strong and organized despite it seeming like a "war zone." They're impressed with our kindness.

Their hearts break for my city and my neighbors.

"All of Canada is with you. All of us."

Doorman at a sport bar in Mexico: "want to come in to watch the Superbowl with us"

Me: "no thanks, unless you want to Whatsapp me when Bad Bunny is performing"

Him: "ooooooh Bad Bunny?" -shimmies-

Me: "Siiiiiiiiii, Bad Bunny!"
-We both shimmy-

I grew up Catholic, so Saint Anthony is a common friend for when you can't find something. I mentioned this to my host and laughed "we always ask Antonio for help here too!"

Maybe it is Antonio or maybe just kindness. Either way, my faith in good neighbors persists, anywhere in the world.

They scan your ID, print it out and you can write that you got your stuff back, sign it. And then take a photo holding the note and your stuff.

Everyone was so kind and honest and understanding of the entire endeavor. They said "you didn't lose it, just left it". But I still feel very lucky.

Today I learned what happens if you leave your wallet at the grocery store in Cozumel.

They take it to a manager, they write down every single content (to the penny) and keep it for you to return.

Then, you can stop by with your passport and/or receipt and describe the contents to get it back.

Felt weird leaving the house without my whistle.

I'm going to the airport to fly out for vacation. Stina, you don't need your whistle for this trip. You can unclench your jaw.

This is happening increasingly and I’m not sure the story is getting out there.
Friend who's part of a neighborhood watch group says their car was just surrounded by ICE. Is fine but obviously rattled.

I started doing a solo trip abroad at least once a year in 2024.
So far it's:
2024: Ireland
2025: Aruba
And next week I'll be in Cozumel Mexico.

Huh, it appears I have a pattern of islands.

DID YOU KNOW?

If you have Delta Sky Miles, you can donate them to help a kidnapped-and-released person fly home!

They are set free on the streets of El Paso or another Texas town with no phone, no money, nothing at all. Your miles can get them back to their loved ones!

If they said 3,000 agents were leaving MN today, I would not fully rejoice. Because those 3,000 would be headed elsewhere.

I don’t want them kidnapping ANYONE. I don’t want them breaking up ANY families.

I don’t want those 700 headed off to destroy other families!

Abolish ICE is the floor.

My Colorado friends are going to visit this summer purely because they want to visit a place that most likely won't be on fire.
(We got all the moisture this winter, their snowpack levels are abysmal this year)

Hi! We now have a GoFundMe for folks who prefer that option. Please share with all friends/family/celebrities/trusted good folks.

Signal is fun because I can tell you with 100% certainty that I would trust a couple of nerds named Toast and Chair with my life.

Pierogi seems chill too, but we aren't DMing yet.

A few days late, but this one was a lot harder to write than others.

Topics include notary work, meeting lovely parents in subzero temperatures near a school, identifying a cyclist in a video of a arrest, and visiting the memorial site.

Surprise. The helicopters still hover.

Is it only one? I don't even know anymore. But something's out there hovering around.
And the helicopter still hovers....

This is a really clear example of how the abductions go:
-Boxing people in
-Intimidation tactics
-Chemical weapons
-Breaking windows
-Violent "arrests" aka abductions where it for some reason requires 6+ masked men to terrorize one individual.
-Threats to observers and press.

Every. Single. Day.
We’re just not a free country.

Any American watching this play out between regime forces and journalists overseas would recognize it for what it is.
