For example: Try researching Gloucestershire Constabulary -'The Worst In The West' - any period but especially the last 50-70 years & see how far you get (likewise Avon & Somerset Constabulary).

Well said, Paula O’Rourke.

“Councillors, unlike private citizens, do not have a right to be protected from offence. We are elected precisely to listen to those we represent, including when what we hear is difficult."

The cllrs who walked out should resign.

Spent the afternoon in north Bristol where police are doing door to door inquiries after a 9 yr old girl was shot in a racially aggravated attack.
There was shock & disgust but also the community rallying round the family of the poor girl.

I’m starting a PhD at the University of Bristol this month.

I'll be working on predicting higher education access rates for young people engaged with care, by local authority.

It’s easier to look at the numbers and statistical models than read of the heartache of generations being abandoned.

Three boys – Max, Mason and Darrian – lost their lives in just three weeks.
A review into youth violence was commissioned and it exposes how Bristol’s most vulnerable children are failed: SEND delays, parents spied on, South Bristol left behind, and Black boys excluded.

The Green administration are complicit in not investigating Marvin Rees’ payments from companies he gave contracts to. They helped delete and hide his emails.

Thanks, Private Eye.

Now we know the timeline....
Was Darren Jones’ new role (which otherwise looks like a risky demotion from being Chief Secretary in the Treasury) actually created by Starmer as a kind of waiting room
- so that Jones can smoothly become Deputy PM for all domestic policies when Rayner has to go?
I think this is about where we are with regards Angela Rayner. The only doubt is, if the media has some more dirt on her.

Labour and Greens in Bristol are both complicit in keeping Marvin’s payments secret.

Why is he still being paid by Ameresco?
What are they paying him for and was it before or after the company was handed a £1 billion contract with the council?

Homelessness crisis in the UK.

Outcome of real wage/benefit cuts, never-ending austerity, sale of council homes, emasculation of local councils, lack of affordable/social housing, corporate profiteering, no rent controls, appeasing corporations/rich.

No. Spying as in literally having staff physically following me around Bristol covertly to see what I say about the council. Then discussing it. And removing EHCP provision as a result. It’s the bit the press never mentions

The Green administration should have set up enquiries on Bristol Energy, SEND spying, the arena, Stepping Up & the Barton House evacuation as a minimum.

Instead, they chose not to confront the potential misuse of power at all.

See video for refusal to pursue SEND spying.
