I’m at the local strip mall chain restaurant. It’s absolutely packed with families. The tv at the bar was playing Charlie Kirk coverage. The bartender said “enough of this” and switched it to baseball and everyone started cheering.

i think many if not most of these people are seeing the outpouring of grief from key right wing media figures on places like fox news and are mirroring the performance because they think it is the thing to do
I dipped onto Facebook last night, and a lot of people I grew up with/around are mourning Charlie Kirk as though he were Mister Rogers. I knew people had a strong attachment to him; it is utterly baffling to me that it was of the "He made me aspire to be a better person" variety.

Yeah same, I was in homeschool co-ops that explicitly banned Catholics and Mormons from teaching.

It must be so humiliating to be an adult Catholic convert who gets stood up by the damn POPE in the damn Vatican
"Pope Francis skipped the Vatican’s official meeting with Vice President JD Vance Saturday, instead having his No. 2 give the vice president a lecture on compassion, according to a Vatican statement."
Pope Sends Deputy to Lecture Vance on Compassion at Vatican
Vance had an “an exchange of opinions” with Cardinal Pietro Parolin that touched on migration, the Vatican said.

I didn't know this was a thing until recently I thought it was just called making food.

The best part is that volume/imports is just a pretty normal measure to use.

Big deal for sure. It was R+15 in November and considered a safe seat. The county's demos are shifting in the Dems favor, turnout was low, and people are upset best explain it, I think.

The replies to this are so funny to me as a district resident. The Amish don't have that kinda pull, they don't vote at high rates and don't have the numbers to influence this outcome. Parsons has more or less conceded already, too. It's a flip because turnout was <30% and people are mad.
uhhhh it looks like Dems just flipped a R+17 Pennsylvania State Senate seat in Amish country…

they are also really, really stupid

Not that Western propaganda is inherently *good* but why would a government ever rationally dismantle its propaganda? The only time this gives a policy maker benefit is if they want to weaken the state.
