You should understand that a major reason for the wave election we just saw was extraordinary turnout driven in part by the Democratic party's willingness to shut down the government over a life and death cause. And you want to piss that hard earned spirit away now by caving. How dare you.

With all due respect Senator, this looks like caving. You are validating his tactics. His response to the election is to double down on pain to make you give in. It worked. You just gave in and he will now ratchet up the pain even more. How could you not grasp this?

The Schumer proposal is irrelevant now. There is a group of D senators led by Shaheen who is negotiating with Rs over voting for the original R bill to fund the Govt in exchange for a promise to negotiate later on healthcare. That is the real cave. apnews.com/article/shut...
