Absolutely this. If you want to know why everything everywhere is falling apart right now, you could do worse (and laugh less often) than these three books.
14 years of malicious self-interest, intentional underinvestment and accidental ineptitude. Chickens come home to roost - but under Labour.

The "mixed signal" here is that Mamdani won in New York and Sherrill and Spanberger won in New Jersey and Virginia. It baffles me that pundits look at that and think, "But what is the formula now?" rather than "In different constituencies, different candidates will do well."

Zohran's campaign was his determination to make New York a city everyone can afford to live in. Huge congratulations!
His success will resonate throughout the world. A story where no one is left behind.
It's time to write that story across England & Wales too.

Man with stubble, "Small boats arrivals are 37,000. There are over 4 million kids in child poverty. And 4.5 million who can't get a dentist appointment" #BBCQT
"We spend 90% of the media discourse on the 37,000. How much more could we achieve if we put that effort into the 4.5 million?"

I don't need to imagine. They did it, and it was awesome.
Imagine getting handed an enormous budget and a big opportunity for global distribution and as your opening gambit... then bringing back the star from 20 years ago and using it to tie up a load of byzantine continuity nonsense.
I'm sorry, each ep of Doctor Who cost the equivalent of a decent debut feature budget?!?
