Soon, TransLucent will be publishing its first newsletter. The launch will be the first of many as we, as an organisation, get stronger daily. This is evidenced by the fact that a trans icon, Professor Stephen Whittle OBE, joined our Board and recently became a Director of TransLucent.

My take on this:

1. We have a hearing in the High Court 12/13 November. The EHRC has already substantially rolled back on where it was and, I think, is in some trouble.

Yesterday, a representative of the Council of Europe (CoE) warned the UK government that they were likely in breach of human rights (ECHR). The crux of the issue is that trans men want to live in manhood and trans women want to live in womanhood.

Currently, on X, the gender-critical are complaining bitterly about windows and paint. Apparently, the damage thereof has interfered in their hate fest of trans people.

Nothing was said earlier in the week about this, though. ⬇️

Option 2: Advocate to the "decision makers."

I want to confirm with our colleagues at @tacc.org.uk that TransLucent met formally with the EHRC four times between February 2022 & 2024.

We attended a multi LGBT meeting on 5/4/23, and I had a very short meeting with their Chairwoman on 6/7/23. We've not met with them since February last year.

Dear @tacc.org.uk as CEO of TransLucent, which is trans led (myself and Prof Stephen Whittle OBE) can I just confirm we have not met with the EHRC for likely 18 months. We will confirm the actual date as soon as we can.

As always, thank you for your hard work to support trans human rights.

We asked the EHRC whether they consulted any trans, intersex or LGBTQ+ groups before intervening in the 2024 Supreme Court case For Women Scotland v Scottish Ministers.

Their answer? They didn’t. 1/

A reminder that the EHRC's argument in court was that their "best understanding of the law" was that a GRC *does* change a person's sex under the EqA - as everyone has understood for 15 years.

They then went on to argue it should not.

I’ve signed this letter calling for full parliamentary scrutiny of the EHRC’s guidance.

Trans people deserve clarity, dignity, and safe access to services - not uncertainty and exclusion. Parliament must ensure that any guidance reflects lived experience and protects everyone’s rights.
