The question now is whether we are there: “To be clear, the United States is not yet an illiberal democracy, but the movement towards it has accelerated in the weeks since the election. What is most disturbing is that Trump has not yet even taken power.”
I wrote this a year ago and it hit a nerve. It is still relevant today:

Each time I have sat down to write something I am bothered by this recurring phrase that I cannot get out of my head. So, this week I am going to just say it out loud: we are on our own. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/we-a...

My statement on President Trump’s actions in Venezuela.

Yep. Surely you didn’t believe him.
Moulton: "When we had briefings on Venezuela, we asked, 'Are you going to invade the country?' We were told no. 'Do you plan to put troops on the ground?' We were told no. 'Do you intend regime change in VZ?' We were told no. So in a sense, we have been briefed, we've just been completely lied to"

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

It isn't about fentanyl.

If so, he would've attacked Mexico and China.

It isn't about drug trafficking.

If so, he wouldn't have pardoned the President of Honduras.

It isn't about election integrity.

If so, he wouldn't have tried to steal an election here.

It's. About. The. Oil.

Yep, it’s all about the oil. Well, and distracting us from the Epstein files.

I’m not gonna mince words for fear of being labeled “anti-American”.

1. The U.S. is a rogue nation
2. If this isn’t a “wag the dog” operation to distract from a dismal first year of his presidency, #EpsteinFiles included, I don’t know what is
3. While nobody…

“Rubio is helping him because he’s making another bet: that voters will reward his work as one of that strongman’s most effective lieutenants. He was only ever ambitious, it turns out. He has no principles to betray—except one, which may end up getting a lot of people killed.”

It’s not just pediatricians who are dealing with this. I wrote about my experience when it comes to trying to get patients vaccines

It’s not only difficult but it is causing a rift in the patient-doctor relationship

This is perfect. The DOJ's embarrassing snafu with disappearing redactions was the fault of Elon Musk. Musk cancelled government subscriptions to Adobe programs that would have made the redactions permanent. What a pack of fools.

Kudos to the Goldwater and Cato Institutes for condemning it.
