The competition has billions of dollars, billions of users and deep political connections.

Quit the crabs-in-a-barrel mentality if you care about all of our collective work meaning something in this lifetime.

There are so many absolutely dope projects being made right now in the Atmosphere. I can only imagine what things will look like next year, in five years, and in ten years.

ATproto is a whole paradigm shift, not just another way to do CRUD.

It's crazy that I live here and haven't heard of this. Surprised Queen of the Click didn't report on this either.

Sick world, man.

An entire political movement founded on uncovering hidden messages in documents to discover the powerful secret pedophiles and meanwhile the powerful pedophiles out here sending gmails saying "Hi fellow pedophile when are we meeting to do pedophilia again"
Disgusting.

In an email on Sept. 11, 2013, Mr. Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, wrote to Mr. Epstein, “It was really nice seeing you yesterday.” He added: “Any time you’re in the area would love to see you. As long as you bring your harem!”

It's crazy how accurate this is, I'm literally in disbelief at the number of connections this guy made across, like, every category.
Jeffrey Epstein is the Forrest Gump of elite pedophiles. There wasn't a momentous kid-diddling-adjacent event that he wasn't involved in, or a sex predator he wasn't at least pictured with. Man was truly a monster among monsters.

And the hyperscalars are pushing up prices. 2x-ing peered egress is big. They don't want you leaving. I've also been seeing a lot of signs of AWS and GCP going out of stock of a ton of SKUs in the US (both committed VMs and baremetal instances) for the forseeable future. This is gonna hurt.

We’re airing a new campaign ad, starting tomorrow.

Use Real Time! Permanent Standard Time approximates natural solar time, for best sleep and circadian health. Ditch Daylight Saving Time!

One of the most frustrating things about discussing bad people is how easy we fall into "actually, they are bad at the thing they're known for" and "I always saw through them."

Sometimes this will be true, but a lot of the time it's just not. Unfortunately, bad people can be smart and capable too.
NEW: I spoke to Jonathan Blow about his ambitious new puzzle game and why it took ten years to make. Then, days after the announcement, three designers came out denouncing Blow for his views on Trump (pro), vaccines (anti), and more. Here's the whole messy story: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

I am not a fan of papers-please digital requirements for multiple reasons, but even I have to admit there are contexts in which it can be important and even desirable. Given 1) multiple network alternatives and 2) privacy respecting methods, verification provides a way to form trusted ecosystems.

It's also *deliberately* disingenuous because we did explain AT and Eurosky at great length to their primary funder.

If I were launching a social media about truth and verification I'd, like, try not to lie but that's just me.

Anyway, some of us have work to do.
ATProto/ActivityPub rivalry notwithstanding, omfg if I were Mastodon today I'd be so angry at this

I can now play okay enough to win hands against 2-stars in Kemono Mahjong. I'm also finishing pretty consistently in second, though there are some *wild* swings from hand-to-hand.

Understanding riichi and memorizing the basic yaku (tanyao, fanpai, honitsu, chinitsu) goes a long way.

In a cool world this would be built on ATProto and citizens would be eligible for a *.w.eu handle and/or a handle from the ccTLD of each member state.
The last thing anyone needs is a new "platform" for microblogging. The whole point is we should be moving beyond silo'd platforms into an open social world. So my response to the launch of "W" as a competing platform to "X" is simply: "but Y, tho?"

Bye, X: Europeans are launching their own social media platform, W
