To me comics are a very special medium as I grew up with them and they were a constant for me. I make them because I'd like to see more people like me in the realm of comics :)
I wish I had this really cool answer at the end of this long thread, but I'll leave it on a note to ponder:
Why do you make webcomics? Why do you read webcomics?
What makes them special to YOU?
