For any of my Star Trek friends on here that might be interested, over on my @pt.letterboxd.social I have a running list of every movie I watch that has a Star Trek actor in it. It's a nice list if you need help picking something to watch & they all contain Trek actors

Catherine O’Hara was the rare type of performer who immediately changed the energy of what you were watching. She owned scenes. She commanded your attention.

Rest in peace to one of the greats.

Each and every day, our future becomes more grim.

I don't even care about Starfleet Academy and I've twice now seen reference to something that seems fairly significant & certainly spoiler-y out there. Once explicitly on Reddit. And another implicitly on this website.

Be careful out there if you're a spoiler dodger. Stuff is out there.

If the vibes around the Phillies weren’t bad enough, here’s a reminder in January that Ben Davis is somehow still affiliated with the team like an annoying cousin you never want around.

6 years ago today, Star Trek: Picard premiered. It brought back my all-time favorite character in any medium. While that first season is uneven, I think it gets too much hate, and works well as an interesting character study. I’ll always defend it, and ridicule some of the dumb stuff it did.

I'm rewatching Star Trek: The Original Series this year to celebrate the 60th anniversary. I know this isn't a new opinion, but The Corbomite Manuever rips.

Why does the new starship have wings?

The year is 2026. Headphones are readily available, and sometimes for free. People still have phone conversations on speaker in public.

An all-timer from Steve. Way to go.

Listen, I think the razzies and “worst of” lists are bad. But if they have to exist, drag the hell out of this movie.

An excellent showing for my favorite baseball player of all time, Chase Utley. This is about a 20% swing from last year. He's getting in. Probably not next year, but hopefully the following.

My EXO-6 Captain Worf figure from the final season of Star Trek: Picard arrived. EXO-6 has done some great work in the past, but this is really next level

Woah.
The USS Picard ship plaque - photo from Kit Stølen Instagram

Perhaps this was the original plan - at the series end, rename the Titan-A to the USS Picard instead of Enterprise-G

TBH, I would have preferred the USS Picard

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is incredible. I'm still processing what I just saw. Maybe the best in the franchise?

People who say the Phillies are running it back again are wrong.

Ranger Suarez left.

The least the Phillies could do for us today is give us the “The Phillies have released Nick Castellanos” news alert. Let us feel something good.

It is January 16th and the Philadelphia Phillies have already disappointed me.

This Phillies team is still a good team. A playoff team. But it’s quite difficult to get excited about this same group again. Bo Bichette would have dynamically changed things.

I’m starting to lose faith in the direction here.
January 16, 2026 at 6:10 PM
This is soul crushing.

And I can’t say this anymore emphatically: fuck the Mets
The Phillies had agreed to Bo Bichette’s request for a 7-year, $200 million deal last night and believed they would sign him until the Mets swooped in with their 3-year, $126 million offer after losing out in in the Kyle Tucker sweepstakes.

I love baseball. But the Los Angeles Dodgers are making baseball less fun.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but if a lockout next year helps stop some of this, so be it.

8 movies added to my "Films I've Watched with Star Trek Actors" Letterboxd list to include Holly Hunter & Paul Giamatti's entrance to the Star Trek franchise.

Note: Robert Picardo, Oded Fehr, and Tig Notaro were already accounted for due to prior shows.

A lovely little tribute. Thanks for sharing this so we can all see it!
Here's the new #StarTrek 60th anniversary bumper video that will play before every new episode of the franchise in 2026, beginning with today's #StarfleetAcademy series debut

Later today, I’ll be updating my Letterboxd list “Films I’ve watched with Star Trek Actors” to include this main cast of Starfleet Academy now that it has premiered. Will share again when complete.

This is likely to be the extent of my interaction with this show 😬

If the Phillies are real about signing Bo Bichette, you’d have to think it happens quite soon. Spring training is in less than a month. And this particular signing will have other major ripple effects on the roster. Gotta think they need time to take care of all that.
