I feel like part of why America, the UK, Europe and other countries in that general sphere have so many shitty older people is that nobody tried to use moral reasoning on them as they got older and instead just used physical punishment so that's why so many of them still act like teens

i'll say it. gimp 3 was a MASSIVE downgrade from 2. missing features everywhere, annoying wierd filters thing that just gets in the way, slow and clunky, can't tear off menus anymore, the list just goes on. gimp 2 on the other hand was perfect.

The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll

This is important. As humans, we like the idea of masterminds and grand schemes. Because it means we can solve societal problems just by defeating the big boss. But in reality, such problems can only be solved by uprooting systems--like financial capitalism--that create bad actors as externalities.
There was no mastermind or grand scheme, but there was a successful effort by wealthy men, including Epstein, to destroy a status quo that they feared was trending towards greater accountability.

Look, if you take any message away from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964), it's: 1) society will not value you unless your differences can be exploited. 2) misfits gotta stick together.

honestly ive come to the conclusion that horror and true crime are very mentally beneficial. you desensitize yourself to the horrors, while still completely knowing and understanding that they are indeed horrors.
