Good things circle back in a funny bizarre way sometimes. Long story short: I helped a drenched stranger one rainy September night & somehow I ended up being helped by a stranger just yesterday. The guy I shared my umbrella with and the guy who helped me are friends. Both of them Deutsche.
It’s also girls and women in sports day?! My faves are Katie and Gretchen for swimming. Simone and Aly for gymnastics. I’m supposed to be good at sports because June babies are said to have the best proprioception. But no. Too cool to be an average June baby haha jk. Proprioception? What’s that?

Someone when they heard Lulu: “Louise is already too short for a nickname!” Lol agree. My middle name’s long though & people who’ve known me from childhood call me by my first + middle name initials. Family calls me Louisa cause you know that Filipino tendency to speak some Spanish when mad lol.
My aunt Regina won the naming game imo. Only 1 gets to be Queen of Heaven. Mom learned later that Fatima is also a Muslim name, but hers is based on that Marian apparition to 3 kids in Portugal. Grandma named well. Mom though? She gave me a combatant name, that someone just shortened to Lulu!!!

This guy is now in The Hague, at the Intl Criminal Court. The arch does bend toward justice. There’s no statute of limitations for murder. No statute of limitations for crimes against humanity either. Don’t feel invincible just cause you’re in power or work for one. History says there’s a reckoning.

With how quickly people are being snuffed out like they’re no one, may we always be reminded of the sanctity of human lives. Every stranger is special to someone. There are people who love them immensely and who are deeply hurt and forever scarred when they’re gone. Please remember that.

Okay I know I have moments of deep heavy thoughts but for most of the day, this the only thing in my head: “they’re two they’re four they’re six they’re eight shunting trucks and hauling freights….” Kids! I tell you!

Five great grandkids in the 14 years she’s been gone. She would have doted so well on them, taught them mahjong, tracked all the sacraments for them to have. She would have been snowbirding to be with the four for half of the year & with Sisi for summer & fall. Wish they’ve met her. We miss her!

Underestimated how much swimming could put me in a good mood. Even caught myself singing “I can see clearly now the rain is gone” lol. Best way to start the day. Hope you find a sport you’d love as much as I love swimming. Who am I kidding though? I’m lucky to be where World Champs & Olympians are.
It was such a great day for a dual meet, the first of the year with World Champs and Olympians swimming in my neck of the woods. I missed that DJ who’d play a rotation of crank that, eenie meenie, and baby though, like he was nicely stuck in the mid to late oughts lol.
