At Cabaret yesterday, Cliff said his line “…if you’re not against all this then you’re for it. Or you might as well be”. The audience interrupted the scene to applaud that line so strongly it stopped the show. Doing a show about the onset of fascism right now is. . . chilling.

We added a new family member! This is Remy, a one-year-old boxer. He is very smart, but also quite silly and derpy, so he’s settling in beautifully with our family ❤️

Kiddo is getting his braces re-wired this morning. He always charms everyone at the office by showing off how much he knows. Today, he’s talking about homophones and giving lots of examples. I’m always impressed by how well he handles himself.

Thomas has been fascinated by Rubik’s cubes since age 4. We have several in our house, and I can reliably solve them up to this point - the first and second layers are solved, and the yellow side solved. I can never remember the next steps, though, without guidance. Maybe someday that will change.

I did some adulting today. I called doctors to verify upcoming appointments and update insurance information. And I finished this calendar page in my journal. It feels good to cross things off a list.

Taco Rain (Level 2 Conjuration) Classes who access this spell: Bard, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard Casting Time: 1 Action Range: 20 foot radius burst within 30 feet Components: Verbal, Somatic, and Material. The Material component is a small sculpture of a taco worth 20 gold Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute Description: For the duration, a steady rain of hard or soft shell tacos falls from the sky. Enemy creatures in the area take one d6 bludgeoning damage plus one d6 psychic damage from not being able to enjoy the tacos. Friendly creatures in the area may use their Bonus Action to catch and eat a taco, regaining one d6 hit points and advantage on their next saving throw, from the deliciousness of the tacos. At Higher Levels: This spell may be cast using a higher level spell slot, increasing the dice by one d6 per spell level of the slot used to cast the spell.

= RollingStone Is there a point anymore in explaining what makes the R-word offensive? Everybody knows why it's ugly and vicious. Today's trolls use it because it crosses a contested boundary, as a deliberate (if uninspired) provocation. The same way reactionaries misgender and deadname transgender individuals in hopes of triggering them, the R-word has lately served as an anti-virtue-signal, affirmation that the speaker is not bound by the standards of "wokeness," which of course is the updated idiom for that older conservative bugbear, "political correctness." Mocking preferred pronouns and putting down a person who disagrees with you as a "retard" are two functions of the same ideological reflex system.

My child wants there to be some D&D spell that causes tacos to rain from the sky and deal damage to enemy characters. I say it should be a Bard spell.

Sometimes, I make customers (and myself) laugh.

A customer called in requesting to turn their TV services off until April 25th, to which I responded, “Oh, the perfect date!”

I then explained the quote. The wife knew it right away, but both of them (and I) got a chuckle out of it.

I turn my head and he runs to the other end of the store. Folks behind us *bust out* laughing, and I pay for my items. I explained he’d just had ice cream, hence the “zoomies.” Thomas came back, and we took our items and left.

Everyone was thoroughly entertained, and I hope y’all were, too. 🤣❤️
