You can just make a chart of whatever you want I guess. Although if you’re trying to make the point that the managerial class are not myopically out of touch, it doesn’t help to label the chart “Southern Regimes”
Anyway back to Labour. Are they indeed too reliant on the dread PMC? Could they shift effectively on economic or cultural positions to win back voters they are losing? Here's how the voting base for social democratic parties has changed across Europe from @jrgingrich.bsky.social and Hausermann

Are there any Germans on here? What is the difference between Garnelen, Krabben, and Krebsen—are they just prawns, shrimp, and crayfish or is there something more to it? Keep in mind I don’t really understand the difference between prawns and shrimp to begin with

If I’m reading that chart right, average incomes in the UK will have risen just over 1% between 2010 and 2030. ‘Ruddy hell’
”Britain is economically dead,” argues Prof Richard Murphy. “We are being screwed by the system, and not by accident. It's by design…What we're seeing here is market failure. But it's also the consequence of deliberate political policy.”

Economically dead: what is wrong with our economy?
The Resolution Foundation says UK incomes will flatline until 2030. This isn't an accident – it's by design; we need change

You have applied for “benefits”. Our Work&Pensions.chatbot has this advice: Benefits are a crucial part of Social Democracy. Depending on the country where they are issued, they may be given for a variety of issues. In conclusion, benefits have both many diverse costs and benefits for society today

On top of the obvious stupidity here, I’m really saddened about how anglo universities are becoming so parochial. Saw some colleagues speculating on how Trump’s attacks on US higher ed could help dying unis in the UK. Folks there is a whole world out there where nobody’s closing departments!
What the f everybody. The arrogance here, just, wow.

I remember this kind of stuff from the first Trump presidency, like “look at them, gnashing their teeth.” Seems like a confession of powerlessness, a desperate clutching at an outmoded idea of culture as praxis. The “worst people” run the entire US government and are pretty much doing what they want
Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl set really seems to have made the worst people absolutely unravel. They didn’t just dislike it - which many people did, from all walks of life, and that’s fine - it really struck them in their souls. And some of them are still growling away. It’s fascinating.

I’m generally very openminded about music but I have a couple of elitist high modernist opinions that I cling to. One is that Shostakovich is boring. The other is that the grammys is an institution that gave the award for ‘best metal song’ to jethro tull and thus should not be taken seriously
