Okay, one of the things Twitter was really good for was sounding the alarm & driving calls to Congress when terrible legislation came up for a vote.

Bluesky, IT'S TIME. H.R. 9495 would allow Trump to shut down any nonprofit by claiming they're "terrorists"

“Ladies, ladies. Calm down about this Kavanaugh appointment. They’re not going to overturn Roe. That’s ridiculous. Don’t be so hysterical.”

Journalists /editors need to frame better & we need to talk more about “if likely, then what’s our game plan”?

⚠️ Trump just named Brendan Carr as his pick to become the chair of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Below is a recent tweet of his in which he rails against “one-sided narratives” in the news, characterizes fact checking as “Orwellian,” and alleges the existence of a “censorship cartel.”

They're simply following the Nazi playbook. The Berlin book burnings began in May 1933 in front of the Institute for Sex Research. If you can convince the population a small sliver of humanity shouldn't exist, it's not a big leap to clump others into the "less than worthy" category.
It is so sinisterly illustrative that the GOP can take the house, senate, presidency, a majority in the supreme court to last decades, and yet still be totally fixated on destroying the lives of a handful of teenage trans girls as if it were a matter of national security.

I would like to speak up today for the trans community.

You see, I know a bit of what it’s like to be politically scapegoated. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, suddenly anyone in America who had any amount of Japanese ancestry became suspect. Politicians preyed upon ignorance and fear. /1

The biggest superpower in a autocracy are saying the words "no, I won't comply."

We outnumber them. Autocrats require constant effort to maintain control. Forcing them to expend effort to enforce compliance is our asymmetrical advantage.

Russia did exactly this to HRC in 2016, aiming to suppress her vote, and probably did. Musk no doubt did suppress Harris voting as well with these demotivation techniques. This should be illegal.

Genocide does not start with the sudden appearance of concentration camps. It starts with building calls for violence against a target minority group that normalizes the murder and violence committed against them. They suppress empathy through dehumanization.

Dems, I'm begging you, start demonizing billionaires like they do immigrants and trans people. We need a leftist populism that makes people hate the very concept of billionaires.
