alright, time for the debut of a character who's long existed In The Background but now comes into full existence: Nichego, Gomi's incredibly neurotic but fascinatingly lethal personal attendant, who escorts her everywhere

Long before the Final Days, Gomi and her then-burgeoning organization decided to do some tax fraud. As she always says, the best way to do fraud is to do it honestly, and thus her associates concocted a scheme to send a bunch of orphans from the Garlean-Bozjan war to school in Ul'dah. One of these orphans was the girl that would be later known as the princely man known as Nichego. During a customary tour of that school - for optics, naturally - Gomi and co. bequeathed gifts upon the orphans. Nichego was the recipient of a tome filled with knowledge on every Primal known to the world, and a few made-up ones. This token gesture for tax evasion ensured Nichego's utmost loyalty to Madam Gomi Fashonti. As an adult, some years after the Final Days and the establishment of the Fashonti-Kisne Company, Nichego sought out his mistress. Of course, this took the form of gaining access to a meeting nobody had ever committed to paper, bulldozing Bodyguards/Temple Knights/Mercenaries/Undercover Guardians/some bystanders using a heretfore unseen method of combat, strolling into Gomi's meeting, prostrating himself before her and begging to enter her employ. Seeing as Gomi is as an eccentric herself, she overlooked the millions of gil in life insurance fees and took him aboard. Nichego is, to most people, an obsequious bootlicker. He hangs on Gomi's every word, follows her every command unquestioningly (and seemingly never needs clarification), supports her verbally when needed and attends to her every whim. To others, he is friendly and polite but noticeably insincere in doing so. He can banter and joke and gossip and talk with the best of them, yet even the most autistic of Gomi's various circles notice an innate wrongness with him. In truth, Nichego is a vessel. He has no real emotions, feelings or desires except to Serve Gomi and every part of his being is in service to this. Save for his outfit - which commanded a phone number price due to its need for ludicrously expensive dyes and tailoring - he has never really known a desire save for what he perceives to be his 'purpose'. He is well-read, well-spoken, an excellent combatant and a nearly peerless problem solver, but this is all in service to his duty. What stuns most is Nichego's manner of combat. At first it appears as though he's plucking weapons made of pure aether from a tome, but the reality is much more impressive. Through pure devotion and pure autism, Nichego figured out how to summon primals without tempering, aided by his pure heart. Using this, his technique is thus: He flips to a random page of his tome, summons the primal, squishes it into a random weapon shape (this can include conventional weapons, but has also included umbrellas, botanist/miner/smithing weapons, a fishing rod once upon a time, and even a fork) and then attacks, at which point the primal is dispersed. This style of combat, essentially unreplicable by the neurotypical and those who're merely *lightly* neurotypical, makes him functionally unbeatable without extreme measures and he's arguably more of a threat than his boss. His boss being an incredibly powerful archmage who's mastered Conjury, Geomancy, White Magic, Black Magic and has bound Nophica to her. Of course, such power doesn't come without bloodlust, but Nichego is somewhat unique in that he trained himself to be bloodthirsty. In his eyes, learning to express bloodthirst makes him a better combatant, and thus a better attendant to his master. It should be noted that Nichego is not evil nor totally detached from humanity as previously claimed. He has a broad palate for food that he enjoys on their own merits, is kind and protective of animals (even when they're predatory beasts that could eat him), freely spends money due to believing himself to have no need for it, and his adoration for Gomi is genuine, as is his friendliness towards those she approves of. There's simply a barrier between him and others that make these emotions feel fake. Aoibheann likes him, at least, that should tell you a lot. Gomi also treats him earnestly and he's maybe the one person besides Aoibheann and Niamh that she never has a bad word for.

this character's whole gimmick is that he just summons primals and then turns them into pure aether, right? well glamourer lets me blanketly apply a 100% glowing emissive to any weapon, ever, so i don't need to do any manual tweaks.

Aoibheann has a generalistic Midlands accent that's muddied by her fairly polite manner of speech

Gomi is Welsh but whether she's common as muck or using a "rich part of Cardiff" voice depends on who she's talking to. Firhu, meanwhile, is a Geordie.

the best way to enjoy FFXIV OC posting is to delete and remake every time you breach exactly 600 followers so you can avoid people that start threatening to harm themselves when you make foundational changes to an OC of yours they like.

the actual explanation for this is that, as she's a shard of Thanatos/Deudalphon rather than Hera/Azem, her soul is essentially in a contract with the other two shards (it's complicated) to either rejoin or be annihilated, so to kill her you'd need to destroy her soul outright.

part of why the Scions were scared of Ubi was bc her continual revivals couldn't be explained away even with all the scientific knowledge in the world. it gets worse for Y'shtola in HW afterwards because, as she uses aethersight, she sees Ubi die in every sense of the word but then get back up

Gomi is old (in Miqo terms), so old that i think if she met any of my friend's OCs she'd dote on them - or try to at least - purely bc they're little babies to her
