I was never offered a seat on the Metro when I was pregnant. Should have brought Batman to work with me.

The trump mamdamni thing proves that we are all NPCs in somebody's first D&D campaign. He went in there with high charisma, rolled a 20 and the inexperienced DM had no option but to change the antagonist's entire character

Bullying and sexual harassment are both, fundamentally, about power: a way of making the bully/abuser feel big by making the victim feel small.
One of the giants of social psychology was a serial sexual harasser.

This new report reveals how Miles Hewstone touched, bullied, and sexual harassed numerous women during his 18 years at the University of Oxford. It's amazing how often bullying and sexual harassment go together in academia.

A very good boy! 🐾🐕😍

An amazing c. 3,400 year-old ancient Egyptian dog carved from ivory. This leaping dog opens and closes its mouth as if barking by using a lever below its chest.

Traveling with my 3 kids, and the TSA agent just asked where their dad is. What is this? The 1950s??? I was stunned.

In retrospect, I should have said, “I don’t know; do you?”

The pressure to forgive your abuser is tremendous, even when you're not in a cult. We are blamed for our anger and labeled "bitter." There is little sympathy for survivors. Statutes of limitation for sexual abuse and rape need to be thrown out, and the sentences lengthened.

I hear that it's International Men's Day (not to be confused with International Male). I've had absolutely awful experiences with men, and one just has to glance at the news to see that men cause too much violence.

BUT, let's concentrate on the good men and celebrate them...

I took a felting class yesterday at my friend's shop. My piece wasn't entirely successful, as the rougher bits didn't want to integrate. But it was my first time.

Why do we have money for Argentina while our own people lose their health care? How does this make us great?

Luxurious duck-shaped vessel carved from a single piece of rock crystal around 3,500 years ago!

From Bronze Age Mycenae, it is said to be an exquisite example of imported Minoan stoneworking. Probably used to hold oils or cosmetics.
