Like many services, as Signal grows, it becomes a more appealing place for scammers to try and cause harm.

We've put together tips to help you protect yourself from phishing, scams, & impersonation attempts. Plus info about how Signal support communicates.

At the start of this year, I set a goal firmly outside of my comfort zone: row 1,000 km by year's end. After sharing this with friends, they suggested tracking it in a spreadsheet with milestones. This was the first time I'd tried anything like this. I didn't know what to expect going in. 🧵 1/9

@fairvote.ca I wanted to follow up on an email I sent to your office email address a few days ago and ask if you offer alternative options to making recurring donations, such as Interac e-Transfer?

@davidebybc.bsky.social What can we do to encourage the federal government to prioritize the implementation of Open Banking in Canada?

Everyone benefits if banks and financial institutions lower barriers and provide easy access to our data in a safe and privacy preserving way.

📣 Germany's close to reversing its opposition to mass surveillance & private message scanning, & backing the Chat Control bill. This could end private comms-& Signal-in the EU.

Time's short and they're counting on obscurity: please let German politicians know how horrifying their reversal would be.
We are alarmed by reports that Germany is on the verge of a catastrophic about-face, reversing its longstanding and principled opposition to the EU’s Chat Control proposal which, if passed, could spell the end of the right to privacy in Europe. signal.org/blog/pdfs/ge...

New handle, who dis!? 🤩

It wouldn't be another year without a new personal domain and a tedious migration of all my online profiles to use it. 😅

dvvv.ca was great for its brevity, but seeing people struggle through trying to pronounce sure was something. Kudos to the brave few that attempted it. 😆

I have a pretty unusual life story. But one of the reasons I love the tech industry so much is how common unusual stories like mine have historically been.

@groundnews.bsky.social is it possible to make (Show) Reader the default when opening an article on iOS?

It makes it less jarring when you move from the app to an article from a specific news outlet. For one it also helps maintain dark mode throughout the experience.

Also, I love Ground News! ❤️

Anyone else feel like Apple’s struggles with implementing the AI features they promised to be reminiscent of the complacency that led to Blackberry’s downfall?

Not that I want them to find excuses to inject AI unnecessarily like some do, but I am really beyond ready for a vastly improved Siri. 😬
