I sing things and jump about. Hate tambourines. Once ate jellied eels so that you don't have to. That sort of thing...

The news this year has been sickening in many ways. The Rob Reiner news is a shit cherry on top of more shit.
Rob Reiner: I'm going to make a coming of age drama, a fantasy adventure story, a romantic comedy, a psychological horror and then a courtroom drama.

Us: Across your entire career?

Reiner: In a 6 year period.

Us: That sounds-

Reiner: -Each one will be arguably the best movie in that genre.

Ooh. When you walk in on a room full of discussion of you, especially that you weren't expecting. That's quite the thing.

Particularly when you're having a CPTSD 'mare.

Brilliant. My favourite things.

Brilliant piece by @labourlewis.bsky.social on why the Nigel Farage racism allegations matter.

If we end up rewarding a politics based on the instincts of a racist schoolyard bully, we should't be surprised at what follows bylinetimes.com/2025/12/10/n...

New Home Office impact assessment finds that cutting skilled and social care visas will cost the UK up to £10 billion with a central estimate of -£5.4 billion.

It would be good if this got even a fraction of the coverage devoted to the endless debate about boats, flags and Turkish barber shops

TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".

Well done me.

No, this is not a “poor pensioner” scrabbling around for pennies…
