Something fun you can do, if you are frying a turkey for Thanksgiving this year (the best and easiest way to prepare one, as long as you do it safely), is you can use that propane burner setup to brew some beer beforehand.
Needs similar things, and you are going to have the rig setup anyway

Long Walk is a tidy movie.
Not “enjoyable” but solid.
Highly encourage watching it on a treadmill (how I watch most movies these days, unfortunately)

There’s a cooler company bombarding my ads lately, with ads that basically show someone packing up their cooler at the fridge, just to take it to the living room for their recliner.
Every time, it makes me a little sad

Induction stoves are better.
They are faster, more efficient and safer.
The problem is that there is a large gap between a good induction stove and a bad one, with bad ones being REALLY bad.
Meanwhile the difference between a good and bad gas stove is almost nothing.
Nobody likes coils though.

Could you imagine how terrible MFA would be if we still had to pay per text message?
Sometimes, on a particularly clunky MFA process, I have to go through like 10 text messages.
Back in the day, that would be like a whole dollar, just to log in to something

YouTube getting rid of the dedicated YouTube Kids app and allowing pure slop to overrun its filters in the main app is an excellent reason for every parent to drop it entirely, as @allisonjo1.bsky.social points out www.theverge.com/tech/824556/...
I’m officially done with YouTube Kids
The slop is on.

Just heard rumors that there was a "Registration Checkpoint" on an arterial road near me yesterday, and that it was really a training exercise ahead of ICE arriving today/tomorrow, on their way out of CLT.
The stop was purposefully right in front of an elementary school.

Honestly, it is too easy to get and keep your driver's license right now.

On the one hand, making people identify as their real selves online can pay positive dividends (protecting child safety, reducing harmful trolling, etc)
On the other hand, it comes at a severe cost, now that the internet has been active for 30ish years, as you have to sell your info to participate

You have to incentivize the change you want.
Making a metro line, where you pay upfront, is less convenient and takes more time are all losing propositions. Removing one of those limitations is a great tool
Iowa City made its buses free in Aug 2023 as a 2-year experiment. Worked so well, city council extended for another year. Paid for with a 1% increase in utility taxes and by doubling most public parking rates to $2 from $1.
