I have known people to do this (including myself at times).
It's not behavior that should be encouraged, and is usually a cry for help more than anything else.

My uncle has had 2
One was horrible. Fidgety, so it would constantly stop recognizing a pan was on and would cut off or do an alarm. Had an alarm that was obnoxious and touch controls that were bad.
The other was amazing. Like boil water in 2m fast and analog controls. The field is too wide though
