Excellent! i was worried McMaster Uni would for some reason not let this video out, perhaps for it vital critical conversation. Glad to see it has been released and cannot wait to hear Dan McQuillan's thoughts as always.
Belatedly sharing this longer 'Resisting AI' interview with McMaster Uni which ranges across the politics of AI, the failure of the usual remedies, forms of self-organised resistance, moves towards decomputing, and a focus on the role of universities. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Nva...

What next, Human Doctors only for the "lucky few"?

Are they paying you enough to sell their AI, Bridget? Or is this a free service you're doing for the techbros?
We want to make sure tutoring isn't the preserve of a lucky few, but accessible to every child who needs it.

AI can help us do that.

Safe, personalised, one-to-one learning support to help every child achieve and thrive.

Many critical AI resources are written for teachers, rather than students. I wrote this for undergrad students dealing with “AI literacy” in the humanities, hoping to raise more fundamental questions about what it means to write. People have added it to syllabi, so maybe you’ll find it useful, too.

Yes, well, we do have Tarek Mansour CEO of @kalshiofficial.bsky.social type bros bald-facedly saying they want to financialise everything, so emotional manipulation and disrespecting the dead is definitely the product.
AI products that do a shitty impression of someone’s dead loved one for money are some of the most depraved and sadistic forms of “big tech innovation” that I’ve seen. Like the emotional manipulation and disrespecting the dead IS the product
