#TheTenX5 Day 10. "Without a Blush" by Hatchie (2019)

I'm always shocked to look at the runtime and remember that this one's five minutes long. I guess I lose track of time listening to it, which I figure probably makes it a successful dreampop song.

#TheTenX5 Day 9. "Dead of Night" by Orville Peck (2019)

I saw Orville Peck play at a festival last year and truly like a 3rd of the money I spent on the pass was to hear him play this live and, truly, it was money well spent. (Especially because the schedule lined up so he played it at sunset.)

#TheTenX5 Day 8. "Clair de Lune" by Kamasi Washington (2015)

Obligatory Jazz Pick! honestly, Kamasi Washington playing a Debussy composition is one of the most "well of course I'm going to like this" pitches in the abstract, and then the reality of the song is everything I could ask for and more.

with every single ad I'm just like "what horrible twist is coming" and there's always a horrible twist (except for the Pokemon showing up)

As we all prepare for the big game, it's important to remember that Jon Daly put out a parody RHCP song ahead of them playing halftime at the Super Bowl 12 years ago and some people thought it was real. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zGk...

the fact that the video manages to sync it to the cat sneaking up to the spot and continually looking at the camera like it's about to do something really cool and then it's *that* is so magical

#TheTenX5 7. "Rill Rill" by Sleigh Bells (2010)

I don't know how many times I've listened to the radio and heard a DJ just play this before or after playing "Can You Get To That" — it's a lot in recent years — but pretty much every time it works on me like gangbusters. Recycling is cool, actually!

I've really enjoyed it. Refreshingly lower-stakes.

#TheTenX5 Day 6. "Better Sit Down Boy" by Confidence Man (2017)

I don't know if this is my very favorite ConMan song but it *is* kind of the ideal form of a ConMan song to me. I also love the video, love any video that feels like it's beamed in from another universe's public access channel.

#TheTenX5 Day 5. "Room Temperature" by Faye Webster (2019)

This was my introduction to Faye Webster and it gave a great first impression. I just stumbled across this song rife with ennui and the sense that it's nice outside and you're going nowhere in August 2020 and it really resonated. Dunno why!

#TheTenX5 Day 4. "Electric Lady" by Janelle Monae (ft. Solange) (2013)

The actual awful choice I have to make re: Janelle Monae is which non-single song I vote for down the road. Singles-wise, this is my favorite one of my favorite album she's put out. Effortlessly cool!

I've been a bit out of it all night but pretty fun hearing a big uncensored "fuck ICE" chant on a nationally-televised wrestling show

It's my favorite Death Cab album and "A Movie Script Ending" was one of the first or second "oh, this is an indie song from my local scene (ish) that I'm really into" songs for me on the radio. I regret nothing and am delighted it's in :)

#TheTenX5 Day 3. "Blockbuster Night Part 1" by Run the Jewels (2014)

"I Jake the Snake 'em, DDT 'em in mausoleums" is maybe my favorite wrestling reference in a rap song and there are about eight million of those so I figure the song it's on ought to make my list.
