This #NationalInventorsDay we want to see your favourite inventions from the past!

We'll start, with the 'true frame' saddle: the sturdy frame made mounted combat easier, making this invention instrumental to the rise of Mongolian steppe cultures.

Very frustrating that the "don't anthropomorphize animals!" crew is now the "my friend ChatGPT says..." crew

Anyway speaking of whether being a cracker or a hillbilly I'm showing this documentary in class today and pretending that it doesn't speak to my own experience to the extreme degree that it does www.folkstreams.net/films/parkin...

Bsky nerds are trying to figure out how to publicly dislike the Bad Bunny halftime show without being called racist and they've settled on "it happened during sportsball"

Not to mention that like the only version of new rock music that is remotely popular is entirely sung in Mongolian, a language most Americans didn't know existed until 2015 (or maybe still don't?)
it's weird to see people complain about Bad Bunny's performance being in Spanish when there have been entire operas in Italian, German and French performed in the US and the top song of the last two years, K-Pop Demon Hunters' "Golden" has lyrics in Korean

My Superbowl/Olympics this year is going to be the finals of this Korean reality competition show where they compete to determine who is the most powerful shaman

They're hating on Joe Burrow for dressing too fly. I thought y'all loved menswear! And he's not even playing tonight, leave my Ohiolachian cousin alone

Rooting for the USA in the Olympics and rooting for the Patriots in the Superbowl are the same thing (embarrassing)

They should let The Hu do the Superbowl halftime show one year

I’m not arguing with no account defending AI. My grandmother lives in an area being environmentally compromised currently by an ai data center. I remember the color of the lake before they built it and the sludge I see in it when I go to see her. Shut the fuck up about “the benefits of AI” forever.

If you don't have a hometown team/housewife you irrationally support even when they are doing bad (Panthers, Kandi Burress) you are kind of missing out on part of the human experience

Bluesky exists in a tension between "oh is sportsball on?" people and "everything I know about reality TV has been against my will" people and the irony of course is that sports and real housewives is the same thing
