The median age of ADHD diagnosis for men remains 8-12; for women, it’s 35. It’s the result of incomplete criteria and a poor understanding of the diagnostics and best practice. (the gold standard is a methylphenidate test. If one dose calms/focuses you, you have ADHD.)
We see a spike in older women getting prescribed with ADHD for the same reason we see the racial gap close with autism. Our understanding of ADHD has grown and therefore, more people who otherwise went undetected are getting the treatment they deserve. This is a plus.

i think people constantly bringing up the "kindness is a choice" theme in mxtx's novels miss the important underlying point that she makes: kindness IS a choice, but it's one you can't keep making if nobody is supporting you and you feel alone (jun wu, Almost xie lian)

-check them out regularly at the library
-request the library order them if they don’t have them
-buy them
-start or support banned book clubs
-organize a banned book kids story time

I think its fine to have art content you dont enjoy, approve of or want to see, and establishing a personal boundary is healthy
