They’ll feel like business negotiators! Companies will be giving them all the best coverage for the least money! Not people with preexisting conditions though. Those people aren’t businessmen. They’re worthless to society and hopefully will die soon.
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

I like "cave caucus" on it's face, but sadly, the first thing I picture is Tim Kaine sitting next to a large 80's stereo console in deep thought listening to Nick Cave and it gives me the jeebs.

Having a hard time keeping track of which democrats are furious and which are furious about the fury. Meanwhile, there's another subsection of them that's been hospitalized with shoulder injuries caused by compulsive shrugging. It's all a big mess really.

All of this probably ends the only way it can. By having AI write a new constitution.

Sometimes I picture everybody on bluesky sitting on the edge of their beds, staring at the nightstand clock, and waiting for it to turn 10pm so they can turn out the light and immediately go to sleep.

That gal got seat cushions so her and the other old ladies could sled down the hill, so they did, reliving childhood memories, remembering youth’s euphoria, and finding a sense of joy that’d been without for too long. Then they walked back up the hill for another go and had heart attacks. Amazon.”™️

People aren’t just angry because the democrats are inadequate at every turn. It’s because the country is at a tipping point and THESE OLD RICH WHITE DICKED MOTHERFUCKERS our only hope to resist and disallow literal fascism from taking hold.

I think this may actually destroy the Democratic Party if it’s not already beyond repair. A massive rupture is coming and by the time any semblance of reorganization and consolidation happens, it’ll be way too late.

Moderate dems (which is the vast majority of dems) saw those election results last Tuesday and thought “oh fuck fuck fuck fuck we gotta knock this shit down a couple pegs.” So here we are. They’d rather split the party into oblivion more than move to the left at all.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.
The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.
People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.
And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

I don't know the actual details of the shutdown deal but BlueSky is making it sound like the democrats just made a trade with the Rays.

I'd guess democrats are doing this because they're convinced letting the GOP continue to impose wildly unpopular, damaging policies onto innocent Americans will clinch a big beautiful blue wave next year. They're gambling with our lives with nothing more than a CHANCE of scoring political points.

You've gotta really love soccer to watch a match in freezing temperatures. Looks like most folks in the stands are just bundled up to their eyes, motionless, bored, patiently waiting for the warm embrace of death.

Mandan is going to implement Shania law. Everyone will be forced to leave boots under their bed and man! feel like a woman.
Mandan is going to implement She-Ra law. Everyone will be forced to magically change into loincloths and have a giant mountain cat for a pet.
Mamdani is going to implement Sriracha law. Everyone will have to slather hot sauce on their scrambled eggs
