Bioanalytical chemist at Hanover College. UMich alum, Ruotolo Lab
After 5 years away, I am so excited to be at #ASMS2025. Years of setting up my lab, getting an instrument, learning how to use it / LC-MS, and training undergrads later... I get to come home!

Check out my students poster at the competition and TP572.

ACTION ITEM-----ACTION ITEM

Implementation of Schedule F

This is what a lot of us have been worried about.

This allows for many civil service positions to replaced with political appointees. This could include NIH institute directors and even POs.

BUT THERE IS A COMMENT PERIOD...

Happy Black History Month! I’m trying to compile a list of contemporary black chemists and I could only think of 20 off the top of my head. Drop some names please. Thank you!

With grad admissions in full swing, my one piece of unsolicited advice to students is that it's okay to trust your gut feeling with this one. It's tempting to try and over-quantify the process, but it's arguably the qualitative things ("vibes", if you will) that matter most.

Question for #asms conference goers! Anyone presented a Chem ed poster in the Education: Teaching MS section? Is more general analytical chemistry / instrumental analysis research ok? Or does it need to be super MS focused?
