wow it really *has* been about a decade!!❤️🎉
Enjoying @slothprof.bsky.social ' "Dear elia", a continutation of the "Open In Emergency" project. I saw her & got the "project" when it came to NYU in the 1st tour. It was a celebration/exhibit with a bhuddist monk & various ceremonies. This book covers the project over the decade it has existed.

yay thank you!! I'm pretty proud of this year's care table. we frantically threw it together just the evening before and morning of. it definitely felt a little stressful--ah the irony.

please note my 12yo's contribution: an emotional support capybara (that I crocheted for him!) for petting.
Moved to see @slothprof.bsky.social care station at #AAAS2025 complete with their amazing @dukepress.bsky.social book.

OPM is planning to fire all employees on probation (less than one year of employment). Agencies have until noon on Wednesday to submit a list of probationary employees to the OPM and indicate whether they wish to retain them—though it has been stated that this will not make a difference.

Memos have been distributed to instill fear, warning federal employees that layoffs will begin if not enough people accept Elon’s buyout. This no longer feels voluntary.

Senator Andy Kim just went to the USAID building, talked to the security guard there to confirm employees are being barred entry, and then did a press gaggle right there in front to call it out.

This is doing something. This is making an effort on messaging. Other Democratic lawmakers: take notes.

Reading @slothprof.bsky.social ‘s Dear Elia after many a fun reading of the AALR tarot deck is the blessing of my lunar new year. The account of dealing with Former Director’s (white) tenured fragility is hitting close to the chest.

"Institutions of higher education see productivity as a sign of success and wellness, but that pressure to be productive is actively making students unwell...
I’m beginning to realize that being a good student isn’t worth sacrificing my own wellness." -student op-ed on dear elia and mental health ❤️
We Need to Talk About Academic Unwellness
Student mental health is precious, and we should be working just as hard to protect our mental health as we work to protect our grades.
