When everyone you have ever loved is finally gone
When everything you have ever wanted is finally done with
When all your nightmares are for a time obscured
By a shining brainless beacon
When you are entirely alone
Then in a great new darkness
You will finally execute your special plan Charlie Brown

Kind of weird how Blondie wasn't really clever, interesting, or memorable as a comic aside from capturing the fundamental desire within every man to make and consume a very large sandwich

Oh yeah btw the reason why Vine is being relaunched with great fanfare and no Al is because it's jointly operated with an Al company and they probably don;t want to pollute their scrap pile with stuff they've already shat out.

VELLUM and INK by Hal Duncan permanently rewired the way I think about characters, narrative, the relationship between the two.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

Spotify is crashing HARD because of the boycott. Their stock dropped 11% in value over the last month. Let’s keep this going!

Tell everyone you know to boycott Spotify. There are plenty of alternatives that don’t run ICE advertisements and screw over artists.

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

First go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

(1/2) Speaking as a math person, I question the validity and rigor of the sample and study given who commissioned it. However, more writers/readers must adopt a zero tolerance policy when it comes to supporting OTHER writers using AI for fiction.

New Report Examines Writers’ Attitudes toward AI
A study commissioned by the Gotham Ghostwriters and Bernoff.com found that while 61% of professional writers are embracing AI tools, authors, specifically fiction authors, are much more wary.
