I’d make the argument Necrons are the only ones moving in the right direction. Their lore was originally super edgy “skeleton robots who hate the living” but all of their recent stuff has to do with geezer liches who have prolific beef with each other and their weird ass hobbies

Like S9 would have made for a really good like, Bozja or Eureka equivalent imo, and some of the characters are really likable! But it’s the same issue I had with their treatment of Garlemald in EW. Evil groups should see real justice because there’s a catharsis in it. Stop shrugging and copping out

I liked Alexandria as a twist “what if El Dorado was actually a super advanced city of tech” but then when half the expansion took place there, seemed unwilling to meaningfully address how evil they are at the root, and now all the patches are still there. It’s really hard to feel invested
