Speaking at the WTO about industrial policy (IP), I highlighted three key points:
1. Transparency is essential.
2. Local content rules can undermine IP’s goals.
3. The WTO’s TBT agreement offers a model: permit IP for “legitimate aims” when it’s minimally trade distorting.

Algeria faces a 30% US import tariff. And Algerian passport holders applying for a US visitor visa must post bonds ranging from $5,000 to $15,000. Payment does not guarantee visa approval. If approved, applicants must enter and exit through 3 designated airports: BOS, JFK, or IAD.

I went to the #bcstx Costco today and put my car sunshade in the windshield to keep the car cool. While 81F in Dec. is actually pretty comfortable, I can't help but think of what those extra degrees of warmth will feel like in August.
