I made a tune for WB Yeats' The O'Rahilly and made a rather feeble demo of it in layers starting with the vocal, added scrolling text and guitar accompaniment. So I more or less get part of Yeats' Nobel Prize now. More than Bronzo anyway. stephenmoransmuseumofillusions.wordpress.com/2025/11/11/a...
A Tune for WB Yeats “The O’Rahilly” (Demo) – plus Guitar Chords
Arguably not one of the Nobel Laureates best poems but having gone over it a few times, I’m warming somewhat to it. Here’s Wikipedia on its subject, The O’Rahilly. I believe the p…

When it comes to insurance claims for car accidents, insurance companies advise us not to admit liability. Now Trump sees an opportunity to extort money from the BBC. They could have simply said that it's inevitable that some errors occur from time to time and we're sorry it wasn't our finest hour.

The President wouldn't last five minutes as an air traffic controller, and after everything they've been through - and the way this administration has treated them from Day One - he has no business shitting on them now.

Fast train on the Chiltern Line this evening. I think you can see why I once called the cops on kids playing on the tracks. The fast trains don't stop at Sudbury Hill Harrow and come around a bend onto this section of the line.

In case anyone thinks it's one-way traffic. The vast size of Russia makes it harder to defend when Ukraine can reach any part within a thousand miles and further with special ops, and Russian war criminals have to check under their cars every time they go out.
This video appeared showing the yesterday’s attack on the Russian seaport of Tuapse. The moment of the explosion of the Ukrainian USV showed a huge explosion.

THINGS KNOW

There's a runcible spoon -
You know the one, the only one -
it lives for you, for you alone.
On the pavement, a scrunchie,
Black. It's stalking you, knows
You notice it's always a round.

Before bedtime, every night as I sweep the floor, I apologise to the mice for not leaving them any crumbs and explain to them that it's for their own good.

Starting to think cinemas should issue 'film comprehension certificates', with special tiered screenings for people who don't understand films. These could be paused every ten minutes, for them to ask questions such as: 'who's that?' 'where is all this happening?' 'what year is this?', etc

The work continues - like painting the Forth Bridge - as more of the archive comes on line. But press the menu too right hand corner & you can browse the masses of stuff already there, visit the shop and a lot more.

Wood ducks are cavity nesters and frequently use nest boxes. After the ducklings hatch, the next day, after the female ensures it is safe, the ducklings jump out of the box to start their adventurous life. Photos taken in my yard. #Birdoftheday theme #takeoff 🪶

My musical tribute to Pauline Collins who has died aged 85. She was brilliant and award-winning in the film Shirley Valentine. But I will always remember her as parlourmaid Sarah Moffit in the 1970s ITV drama Upstairs, Downstairs.

Does anyone else think that Zohran Mamdani's loud-shouting for his entire victory speech sort of ruined it? It took away all of the shine. He told Trump to turn the volume up. I'd suggest @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social could turn it down a bit. Don't become like Howard Dean or Neil Kinnock ended up.

Pete Hegseth's "warrior culture" is big enough to bomb and sink sad little boats with possibly fishermen or random helpless individuals in them but when it comes to Russia it shrinks and shrivels to a worm and hides in the dirt. And there under the dirt it cowers with the slimy slug known as Bronzo.

Gilson Lavis, drummer with Jools Holland's Rhythm & Blues Orchestra and all the way back to Squeeze passed away this week. Always looked like he was loving the music in some of my favourite clips from Jools' shows, as in this clip with also much-missed Ronnie Spector. R.i.p. youtu.be/pX96uS-FEAY?...

The Kostroma Power Station in Volgorechensk, Kostroma region, in Russia was struck last night. A large fire can be seen.
With its capacity of up to 3,700 MW it is one of the largest power stations in Russia. It is around 730 km (450 miles) from the Ukrainian border.
