I was known as jaliranchr on Twitter since 2008. I love dogs, gardening, hockey (DU and Avalanche) and other hobbies. Avid student of the history of the American West and WWII, and I'm a news junkie. Colorado plains resident who didn't vote for BoBoBert.
Always a good day when the Avs beat the Red Wings. Not the rivalry it once was, but still very satisfying.

Lies. Blame. Grievances.
That's all the whole Trump Administration offers consistently. There is no reason to ever expect more than that.

C'mon Broncos, this has been an awful weekend. Give us some Mile High Magic. The Avs came through and beat the Leafs. Your turn, Broncos!

Listening to Noem absolutely nauseates me. The lies flow so easily from her overblown lips.

The CO GOP just cannot pull their collective pinheads out of their asses. Yet they keep trying. Maybe another meeting under some bridge in the middle of nowhere again.
A conservative dark money group got a pro-ICE ballot measure on Colorado’s 2026 ballot yesterday. Hopes of using it to squeeze swing district Dems and juice GOP midterm turnout may backfire, given current events.

So quiet in the neighborhood until that field goal was converted. I think everyone for three blocks stepped outside in the 15F temps to whoop for the Broncos. What a game!

As the Orange Menace speaking, I was saying goodbye to my old friend Billy. I watched as my old reliable 2002 Outback was loaded on a tow truck to benefit Habitat for Humanity. He served me well, as will his replacement, Ron Burgundy the Impreza.

Hahahaha celebrate Chu Chu's hat trick with a shoe. Love it.

Happy New Year to one and all. Time to curl up on the couch with the dogs and watch the Colorado Avalanche take on the St. Louis Blues. That's plenty of excitement for me.
May the new year hold blessings for all.

Happiest Holidays to all. Donny and Rawhide will get new beds in the morning and immediately start squabbling about who gets which one. As long as they don't get underfoot as dinner is prepared.

The drama when the dog's toy squeaker dies. Carries it around biting at it to tell you to fix it. So glad these are the ones with velcro for easy replacement. Little victories in life.

Still trying to figure out why the Rangers' goal was allowed in regulation when there were TWO high sticks from the Rangers. Oh, well, the Avs won. YEA!
Absolutely NASTYYYYY

Not getting ahead of myself, as it is a long hockey season. BUT, the Avalanche are on fire. The Pioneers beat the CC Tigers in one of the oldest rivalries in college hockey. Happy days.

The Swainson's hawks will begin their autumnal migration to South America soon. For the time being, they are spending their afternoons gathering on a Century Link tower.

I've recently started a substack. Today, our local weekly paper, which will cease publishing soon, had their Facebook page put in jail after apparent complaints for quoting Tucker Carlson's defense of Jimmy Kimmel.

Saw them at Red Rocks 1982. Wonderfully fun night.
The Go-go’s release their debut LP “Beauty and the Beat” today in 1981 — to this day, the only #1 Billboard album by an all-female band who wrote their own material & played their own instruments.

“I remember saying, 'Wow, if we sell 150,000 copies,” said Belinda Carlisle, “that would be so cool.’”
