yup, and it’s even worse this time because we do actually have a program to help with this problem and the people running things are deliberately not using already appropriated money to keep it going while they illegally shift other money around to pay the military
In the same way that “inspirational” stories about kids using lemonade stands to raise money for a family member’s cancer treatment or fellow students’ lunch debt… it’s an indictment of society reframed as individual heroism. Maddening.
