Republicans and Democrats are standing together, clearly saying that Members of Congress should not be able to trade stocks.

We get sensitive, classified information. We should be trusted with that to help our constituents, not pad our wallets.

Imagine if the DNC made it a national priority to coordinate free food & medical aid through its local offices in response to the fascist crisis. Imagine the politics of empowerment & possibility that would emerge.
The way the Black Panthers understood food aid as a crucial form of self defense against the capitalist machinery of the racial state remains essential to the struggle against fascism today.

Incredible.
Heartbreaking stuff. And more good journalism from @charlotteobserver.com which has been a part of an incredible effort from local media to cover this past week’s attack on our city.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

Removal of these plaques is both reprehensible and immoral.
Two panels commemorating the contribution of Black American soldiers towards the liberation of the Netherlands in World War Two have been quietly removed from a cemetery in Limburg. It follows a complaint by right-wing think tank The Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission.

Afghanistan cost taxpayers $2.3 trillion. We got zilch in return.

They've trained us to think that it's weakness to have government social programs. Actually, it's social investment.

Our taxes SHOULD go to education, healthcare, maternity, & other supporting systems instead of wasted on war. 🧵

Far be it for me to laud anything Jeffy Landry does, but funding SNAP for Louisiana is a good thing. A little voice in the back of my head is telling me it's about protecting the profits of vendors, not the health of recipients, but I'll take it and credit him for the help it provides to Louisiana
