After all the prep work it really only is a matter of painting until it's done. No AI, no bs, just plain old painting.

One of my art teachers back in 2009 always used to say "a good artist should know a little about everything", so I usually take one day solely dedicated to research, including studying the topic, gathering refs and if need be create a 3D mock-up.

These are the two value sketches I landed on during Paul Canavan's MIR mentorship after we went through thumbnailing and concepting.

A guild member and friend from my WoW guild commissioned me earlier this year to paint her husband as a Hearthstone paladin card.
