Another chilling shooting by a federal agent in Minneapolis, this time of a nurse. My heart goes out to Alex Pretti's family.

We cannot let Nigel Farage and Reform import Trump’s dark politics to the UK.

question:

Which countries lead on happiness, health & longevity —
the ones with coalition governments, high taxes and strong public services,
or the ones chasing Reform / Trump-style “strong leaders” and culture wars?

The data isn’t subtle !

Genuine question for Labour & Brexit voters drifting to Reform:

If the UK hasn’t had a left-of-centre government for 40+ years,
how did “the left” break the country?

And how does going further right fix right-wing policy failure?

Yesterday, Russia used Oreshnik missiles against Ukraine for the second time in this war—the first was in Dnipro. All night: drones, missiles, explosions. No sleep. Morning came with no electricity. 1/2

The numbers haven’t changed — only the route.

In 2002, around 103,000 people sought asylum in the UK.
In 2024, it’s about 108,000, almost the same. With a shrinking workforce, low birth rate, and ageing population, Britain needs immigration, not scapegoats.

We just stopped Nigel Farage’s plan to drag Britain out of the ECHR and tear up people’s rights. Farage wanted to scrap Churchill’s legacy and bring us closer to Trump's America.

Thank you to my @libdems.org.uk colleagues, and many Labour MPs for standing up to Farage and Tory calls to leave the ECHR and join Russia on the outside.

We’ve seen a Reform politician convicted of taking bribes from Russia, but patriotic MPs today said no to their plan!

I know this is not a unique observation but public health was basically created to deal with the Spanish flu, and then a century later COVID hit and killed twice as many people and our response was to destroy public health

Just to point out - though you wouldn’t know it from the media & peoples casual chat and voting #REFORM with absolutely no idea what their policies are! The #LibDems are the real ethical and right now only capable government for the kind of U.K. I want to live in. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

The way DWP has treated Andrea and thousands of carers like her makes my blood boil.

The Carer’s Allowance repayments scandal has dragged on far too long, and ministers urgently need to put things right.
Unpaid carer to challenge DWP allowance overpayment penalty in court
‘It takes the little people to stand up,’ says Andrea Tucker, who was told to repay £4,600 after caring for mother for 15 years

These finding should, I think, give pollster some pause for thought about what leadership ratings Qs they ask and how they report their data.

In particular, Ed Davey is preferred as PM over Nigel Farage.

But pollsters often do one of two things which are therefore problematic...
