I saw Anora last night. While I really did enjoy it (I did not expect it to be so funny) I have a hard time seeing it as the best film of 2024. I heard a lot of comparisons to Uncut Gems before I saw it and I don't think that comparison does it any favours.

hey gamers, do me a favor

next time you feel compelled to utter the phrase "lazy developers" - try saying "greedy corporate executives" instead

just take it for a spin, see how it feels

About a week ago I entered this model into a mini painting competition run by my FLGS. Yesterday I found out I won the single model category! Feeling very proud of myself and how much my skills have improved in the last year. #minipainting

The way people talk about Hollow Knight, you would think it invented a genre that's over 30 years old.

First cat I found in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and you can't even pat it. 0/10

I finished Black Mesa this week. Incredible game with so much care taken by people who clearly adore the original game. Xen was also fantastic, it's diverse and intriguing. My only complaint with Xen was the alien box factory in Interloper being far too long.

Kafka On The Shore might be the strangest book I have ever read. I'm a third of the way through it and have no idea what's going on. Is all of Murakami's work like this?

Black Friday is a great time for finding out about all the mailing lists I don't remember ever signing up for.

Oof.
First episode of Uzumaki is brilliant. Overlapping the story arcs makes total sense too but it still feels well paced.

A saw Perfect Days a week ago and I'm still thinking about it. 今が今!

I watched "Perfect Days" on Saturday and it's continued to sit with me. An absolutely beautiful movie about just being, and finding joy in small moments. It's an easy recommendation.

Would I be considered an 'early' adopter? I was #2,924,297, but I really just parked the account and lurked for a while.

I bought this cheap Pikachu toy to practice painting in a cartoon/cel-shaded style.
I did not consider the fact that it's 90% yellow, the worst colour to paint with.
