The "owl queen" in Welsh mythology is Blodeuwedd, who was transformed into an owl as a punishment for plotting to kill her husband, Lleu Llaw Gyffes. Originally created from flowers, she was cursed to become a creature of the night, often associated with wisdom and transformation.

"Little Billy Biter" is a traditional colloquial nickname for the blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus), particularly used in the South West of England. This name is not based on extensive folklore, but rather on the bird's specific defensive behaviour.
