Something I generally dislike in video games is secondary game mechanics. I bought the new DOOM b/c I enjoyed the 2016 reboot. I spend like 25% of the game flying dragons & operating mechwarior robot things. The main FPS feels great, but then flying the dragon feels like an amature IOS game :(

Was working on a codebase connected to an llm. I was getting some 400 malformed input, and in the try/catch I just told the llm to fix the input and try again. I AM NOT DOING THIS FOR FOR REAL, but it did work and made me think about LLMs potential role reactive exception handling.

If you are building an agent powered by DeepSeek the cost of tokens is 20-40x cheaper than OpenAI. Once again, compute becomes commodity & value is pushed up to the application layer.

I did a full grocery shop today. Every product was #Canadian expect Frank's Red Hot sauce. Unfortunately, I can't find a CAN equivalent.

As a general rule, I don't love bio-pics, but I very much enjoyed `Love and Mercy`. It's the story of Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys! youtu.be/lioWzrpCtGQ?...

Love that a lab with a fraction of the GPU power, budget and staff of the big American AI whales has dethroned them and then open sourced their trained model and documented all their secret sauces.

Without any of the bullshit of “we can’t open it, it would become sentient and turn against us”
