New Magic Numbers are up on YT. A bit on Liverpool experience, a bit on general Spiderman set situation but mainly looking at signals in pick 2 draft. I do think pick 2 is a fine idea and stronger signalling is an interesting aspect of it, worth exploring.

I need a shower to cry under but my planned prep for the Spotlight is done. List locked and I managed for the first time ever to get to Mythic. It was a pain with BO3 but at least I have a half decent plan against the mirror and against monoR. Shame the pilot is flawed.

I love the Limited Championship idea but.
When the system is in a bad state, fixing the top is not really what will solve the problem. Issues are at the local level. There is no rationale to buy a $500 Standard deck to win a $15 promo, or open a foil Purple Wurm in a promo pack.

🏆 7-1 in Direct with the usual suspect. Dryad confirmed busted, Wombat was the secret hero of the draft. It is still mind-boggling to me why the stats on Evolution Witness are so mid - card can work miracles. Especially when triggers twice thanks to Wombat.

🏆 All that funny spell slinging and graveyard filling is nice and fine but sometimes you just need to put creatures on board and turn them sideways. Basically every game was Infantry + Gaelicat. Sometimes with equipment on them. Bard's Bow + Vendor is an under-appreciated mix.

🏆 Sometimes the lane is just there. Started with WG cards and got there with WG cards. The package of Fulcrum / Scout the City / Ancient Carvings was interesting - I noticed WG tends to run out of steam and this guaranteed it didn't. 4-0 with games not particularly close.

So we have a bunch of UB sets coming to town. I for one don't mind a bit. As long as sets are fun to play - I care very little if the set is based in the invented world of Edge of Eternities, or invented world of Star Trek. If there are Ninja Turtles or their budget version in Kamigawa. 1/

When I was younger I liked playing with my LEGO pirate ship. But now Lego makes a pirate ship based on Jack Sparrow and I lost the enjoyment of merging bricks into something from a movie I know. If I didn’t know the movie, I’d still not enjoy it. Never ask me why.
